This annual meeting provides a global platform for dialogue between governments, business, civil society, affected groups and international organizations to share lessons learned on the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The 2019 Forum builds on calls from business, civil society and stakeholders for governments to step up action and leadership in these multi-stakeholder efforts by asking governments to demonstrate progress in fulfilling state duties and accountability. In a session titled Finance against slavery: how government action and public-private partnerships can work to end modern slavery and human trafficking, Commissioners will present Unlocking Potential: Mobilizing Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking, a blueprint for scaling up action by governments and the financial sector to address modern slavery and human trafficking.
